Food is a an important resource in Empire Earth. It is essential to train Citizens and most of the Units in the game. Unlike other resources, there are multiple ways to obtain food. Forage patches and wild animals will be the first sources of food available if the player starts in the Prehistoric Age. Once the player epochs up to the Stone Age, fishing will become available, followed by farming in the succeeding epoch the Copper Age

Forage Patch[]

Like other resource patches, up to six Citizens are allowed to gather at a foraging patch at a time. This can be increased to seven in The Art of Conquest as a civilization power for Russia. Forage patches are non-renewable and can be quickly depleted as compared to other resources.

Animals[]

Main article: Wild Animals

Animals provide food for citizens to gather (if killed). Once an animal is killed, the assigned Citizens will gather food from its carcass until it is depleted and then automatically kill any other wild animal nearby. As wild animals can reproduce they can be utilized as a renewable resource.

Fish[]

Fishing can only be gathered by Fishing Rafts and Fishing Boats, who will move on to the nearest fishing spot when the current one is depleted. Fish can be found in schools in bodies of water and cannot be attacked by other units, as compared to wild animals.

Granaries[]

Main article: Granary

Food can also come from granaries. Once a Granary and all of its farms have been built, at least one citizen will automatically start farming. To gather food from a granary you must have at least one citizen first. Right click on a farm (like gathering any other resource) and they will go and harvest. Only one citizen can forage on one farm at a time. There are eight farms in a Granary so Granaries are better way of getting food.
